The Playground Ensemble presents a program of work spanning the spectrum of 20th and 21st century percussion music by original innovators of the genre, contemporary masters, and new works from composers in the Playground family.

Leah and Playground percussionists will perform Caroline Shaw’s “Narrow Sea”, her 2021 chamber work written for Sō Percussion that combines folk song and hymnody with a sonic universe that includes ceramic bowls, humming, a piano played like a dulcimer by five people at once, and flower pots.
